About Kirk Ella
Kirk Ella is a village and civil parish on the western outskirts of Kingston upon Hull, approximately 5 miles (8 km) west of the city centre, situated in the East Riding of Yorkshire. The place has been a village since at least the 11th century – it remained a relatively unimportant hamlet until the 18th and 19th centuries. After the 1920s the village grew substantially with large amounts of high quality housing surrounding the traditional village centre.
