Domesday Book (1086) does not include Woodmancote in Bishop’s Cleeve. It became a place in its own right when estates in the area were organised by the Bishop’s officers around 1170. Over centuries it remained an area of smallholdings and arable fields. Only in 1847 the traditional farming of the villagers on medieval open-fields ended, as arable land became enclosed into the fields we see today.

Prestbury, Gloucestershire Prestbury is a medium-sized village near the edge of the Cotswolds in Gloucestershire. It forms part of the borough of Cheltenham, despite retaining its own parish council. The parish of Prestbury had a population of 6,981 according to the 2011 census.

Cleeve Hill, Gloucestershire Cleeve Hill is the highest point in the Cotswolds hill range and of Gloucestershire. It is located on Cleeve Common which is a Site of Special Scientific Interest. It commands a clear view to the west, over Cheltenham and the racecourse, over the River Severn and into Wales.

Cleeve railway station Cleeve railway station was a station in Stoke Orchard, Gloucestershire, England. The station was named for the nearby village of Bishop’s Cleeve.
