A71 road The A71 is a major road in Scotland linking Edinburgh with Lanarkshire and Ayrshire. Formerly a trunk route from the east to the west coast of Scotland it has since been downgraded to a mix of primary and secondary routes. Cambusnethan House Cambusnethan House was designed by James Gillespie Graham and completed in 1820. It is listed on the Buildings at Risk Register for Scotland as a building facing “critical” risk. The house is two and three storeys high with turrets at each corner, a three-storey bow in the west elevation.
