The Waltham name is of Saxon origin: Walt refers to woodland or an area of high forest and Ham to either an estate or village. There was a substantial Saxon settlement on the site of the first village, and artifacts show earlier Roman occupation.

Nunsthorpe Nunsthorpe (sometimes known locally as ‘The Nunny’, or by its nickname of Garden City) is a suburb and housing estate in the western part of Grimsby, North East Lincolnshire. There are over 2,400 homes on the estate, mostly former council properties now owned by the Lincolnshire Housing Partnership. St Martin’s Church, Waithe St Martin’s Church is a redundant Anglican church in the village of Waithe, Lincolnshire. It is recorded in the National Heritage List for England as a Grade I listed building. It stands in open countryside near the A16 road between Grimsby and Louth.
