Treyford (Treverde) was listed in the Domesday Book (1086) in the ancient hundred of Dumpford as having 21 households: eight villagers, eight smallholders and five slaves. The lord of the manor was Robert, son of Theobald. In 1861, the population was 123, and the area of the parish was 1,260 acres.

Vandalian Tower The Vandalian Tower at Harting, West Sussex, was built to commemorate the British colony of Vandalia. It was listed as a scheduled monument in 1976 and is now owned by the Fetherstonhaugh family.

Devil’s Jumps, Treyford The Devil’s Jumps are a group of five large bell barrows situated on the South Downs 1.2 kilometres (0.75 mi) south-east of Treyford in the county of West Sussex in southern England. The site is listed as a Scheduled Ancient Monument and as a Local Nature Reserve. The main line of five barrows is aligned with sunset on Midsummer Day.
