The site of the village itself goes back to at least the medieval period. There was evidence of earlier encampments, but these had been levelled by the 19th century. The village originally sat on the turnpike that ran between Fishguard and Haverfordwest. Until the 1970s the village was quite small with no more than 120 inhabitants.

St Michael’s Church, Rudbaxton St Michael’s Church is a Grade I listed building in Rudbaxton, Pembrokeshire, Wales. The building dates from the 15th century, and has a 12th-century font. It was listed on 1 March 1963 as a fine example of a substantial mediaeval double-nave church with important memorials.

Scolton Manor Scolton Manor is a Victorian country house and country park located in Pembrokeshire, West Wales. Built as a home, it is now a museum and is a Grade II* listed building. The house, grounds and a number of exhibits are open to the public.

Treffgarne Bridge Quarry Treffgarne Bridge Quarry is a Site of Special Scientific Interest (or SSSI) in Pembrokeshire, South Wales. The name derives from the Welsh “Trefgarn” The site has an area of 0.4 hectares and is managed by Natural Resources Wales.
