Terrington history
The village is mentioned four times in the Domesday Book as Teurintone. The lands were divided between the manors of Bulmer and Foston. The village name is Old English, but of uncertain meaning.

In 1881, the population of the parish was recorded as 685. At the 2001 census it had a population of 520 of which 51.3% were male and 48.7% female. By the time of the 2011 Census the population had reduced to 459.
