Leicestershire and South Derbyshire Coalfield The Leicestershire and South Derbyshire Coalfield is one of the smaller British coalfields . All of the worked coal seams are contained within the Lower and Middle Coal Measures which are of Upper Carboniferous age .

Gresley Rovers F.C. Gresley Rovers play in the United Counties League Premier Division North, playing their home games at the Moat Ground. The club were reformed in 2009 under the name of Gresleys F.C. In July 2020 the club readopted their original name, Gresly Rovers.

Gresley Priory Priory was a monastery of Augustinian Canons regular in Church Gresley, Derbyshire. Following the Dissolution of the Monasteries, the priory church became the village’s parish church of St George and St Mary.
