The parish of Stetchworth is six miles long and one mile wide and covers an area of 2,891 acres (1,170 ha) It stretches southeast from Newmarket Heath to the border with Suffolk. Devil’s Dyke (or Ditch), an Anglo-Saxon earthwork built between the villages of Reach and Wood Ditton, runs through the village. The National Stud partially falls within the parish boundaries.
