South and North Charford are usually identified with the “Cerdic’s ford” which appears twice in the Anglo-Saxon Chronicle. It is possible that the boundary of Hampshire was first established here. Church of St Birinus, Morgan’s Vale The Church of St Birinus is a Church of England church in Wiltshire. It was designed by Charles Ponting and constructed in 1894–96. The church has been a Grade II listed building since 1985.
