The Higher Trapp Hotel is part of the Best Western chain of hotels. Simonstone railway station was south of the village and closed in 1957. Granville Technology Group was based in the village, until its closure in 2005.

Huntroyde Hall

Huntroyde Hall was originally built for Edmund Starkie in the 16th-century and has since been modified many times. The house remained in the ownership of the Starkie family until 1983.

The Hall dates from the 17th century and was originally the home of the Whitaker family. The house was substantially re-built in the 18th century as an early example of Jacobean revival architecture.

Padiham F.C. Padiham Football Club are an English football team. They play in the North West Counties League Premier Division. As of 2019–20, they play in Premier Division North West.

Gawthorpe (ward) Gawthorpe is an electoral ward in the non-metropolitan district of Burnley in Lancashire. The population of the Burnley Ward at the 2011 census was 6,148. The ward covers the majority of the town of Padiham, meaning it is a largely urban area.

Gawthorpe Hall Gawthorpe Hall is an Elizabethan country house on the banks of the River Calder, in the civil parish of Ightenhill in the Borough of Burnley, Lancashire, England. Its estate extends into Padiham, with the Stockbridge Drive entrance situated there. Since 1953 it has been designated a grade I listed building.

Read Hall and Park Read Hall and Park is a manor house with ornamental grounds of about 450 acres (180 ha) The current hall dates from the early 19th century and is a grade II* listed building. The landscaped grounds date from around the same time and feature a waterfall, two lakes and woodland. The hall and park are not open to the public.
