Pickwell was known as pediccheswella in the Domesday Book. The manor was owned by John Harris who was the member of parliament for Barnstaple in the mid 19th century. The Hole family paid for much of the restoration of St George’s church in Georgeham.

Croyde Croyde is a village on the west-facing coastline of North Devon, England. It lies on the South West Coast Path near to Baggy Point, which is owned by the National Trust. The village is in the civil parish of Georgeham and for ecclesiastical purposes within the Diocese of Exeter.

Putsborough Putsborough is a hamlet in Georgeham Civil Parish on the west-facing coast of North Devon. It is about 3/4 miles (1.2 km) north of the village of Croyde and 1.6 km west-northwest of Georgeham. 0.5 miles (0.8 km) south of the hamlet is the southern part of the two-mile-long (3 km) beach of Woolacombe Sand.

St George’s Church, Georgeham St George’s Church is the Anglican parish church for the village of Georgeham in Devon. The 13th-century church comes under the Diocese of Exeter and has been designated a Grade I listed building since 1965.
