Oakhanger, Hampshire history
Oakhanger was first mention of the village in a charter from the early 10th century. Roman and Mesolithic remains have been found in nearby Shortheath Common, including a large Roman hoard of 11,000 silver pieces. A Roman road passed through the village although there are no visible signs of its existence. The village name has been spelled in various ways, including Acangre.

Hogmoor Inclosure
Hogmoor Inclosure is a large area of wooded heath situated 0.5 miles (0.80 km) west from the town of Bordon in Hampshire. The inclosure was first scouted in 1896 by the Highland Light Infantry with camps being built in the area in 1903.
