Caythorpe Court
Caythorpe Court was built in 1901 for Edgar Lubbock, a brewer and banker, to the designs of Sir Reginald Blomfield. In 1946 it became the Kesteven Agricultural College, which was renamed the Lincolnshire College of Agriculture and Horticulture. The college became the De Montfort School of Agriculture, but the site was closed in 2002. It was acquired by PGL who now operate it as a centre for adventure based holidays.
Frieston
Frieston is situated just west of the A607 road, and 7 miles (11 km) north from Grantham. It is conjoined to the southern part of the village of Caythorpe. ‘Frieston’ is a name which belongs to the 5th-century settlement of Britain by Anglo-Saxons, in this area mainly Angles, but in this case Frisians.
St Nicholas Church, Normanton
St Nicholas Church is a redundant Anglican church in Normanton-on-Cliffe, Lincolnshire. It is recorded in the National Heritage List for England as a designated Grade II* listed building. It stands beside the road between Grantham and Lincoln.
