Noak Hill was a ward in the ancient parish of Hornchurch. By the 16th century it had come under the control of the Romford vestry. It was included in the newly created Romford civil parish in 1849. From 1895, it became a separate civil parish.

South Weald Camp South Weald Camp was a hillfort based in Brentwood, Essex, England . Roughly circular in plan, the fort covered 2.8 hectares (6.9 acres) with a suggested construction date in the late Iron Age . The location is associated in this period with the Catuvellauni and Trinovantes .
