Marldon history

Kirkham House Kirkham House is a late medieval stone house in Paignton, Devon. It is believed to be a 14th or 15th century building. The house was designated a Grade II* listed building in 1951.
Festival Theatre, Paignton The Festival Theatre was a seafront theatre located on the Paignton Esplanade. It was in direct competition with the Princess and Pavilion theatres in Torquay. The theatre closed at the end of 1998 and re-opened in October 1999 as a multiscreen cinema.
Christ Church, Paignton Christ Church is a Church of England, Evangelical parish church in Paignton, Devon. Designed by Walter G. Couldrey and Edward Gabriel, the church was built in 1887–88 and has been a Grade II listed building since 1993.
Compton Castle Compton Castle in the parish of Marldon in Devon, is a fortified manor house in the village of Compton (formerly “Compton Pole”), about 5 miles (8 km) west of Torquay. The castle has been home to the Gilbert family for most of the time since it was built. It has been a National Trust property since 1951.
