Langrigg history
Langrigg is a historic township in Bromfield parish. It was owned by the Osmunderly and Porter families of Lancashire. Langrigs Hall is the principal manor house, with its Hall being the principal residence. The township became an independent parish in 1894.
Langrigg geography / climate
Langrigg is located along the A596 road. It is relatively low-lying, at the extremity of what was described in the late 18th century as a “dull and dreary common” The township covers an area of 865 ha and includes part of Bromfield Common.
