Shipley Hall Shipley Hall was a country estate in Shipley, Derbyshire near Heanor and Ilkeston which now forms a Country Park.

Ilkeston did not have a railway station from 1967 to 2017, despite its substantial population and the fact that the Erewash Valley Line skirts the eastern edge of the town. By some definitions it was, by some definitions, one of the largest towns in Britain with no railway station. In March 2013 Transport Secretary Patrick McLoughlin announced a new station would be built, costing £5 million. It has two platforms, which can take six trains per hour with up to six passenger cars.
