Horselunges Manor is a moated Tudor manor house, originally built for the Devenish family and restored by Walter Godfrey in the 1930s. The watermill connected with the Wealden iron industry is no longer in operation and the mill building is a Grade II* listed building.

Hellingly geography / climate

Hellingly contains the confluence of the River Cuckmere and one of its tributaries, the Bull River, close to the centre of the historic village. The entirely rural and suburban village is centred exactly 1.5 miles (2.4 km) north of Hailsham.

St Wilfrid’s Church, Hailsham St Wilfrid’s Church is a Roman Catholic church in Hailsham, East Sussex. The present building was completed in 2015 and is the third church to serve the town. It stands between its predecessors, a small hall opened in 1922 and a larger church of 1955, on a site which had belonged to a Catholic family since the 19th century. For many years worshippers had to attend Mass in basic premises: rooms in private houses and a loft in the stables of a brewery.

Hailsham Town F.C. Hailsham Town Football Club are currently members of the Southern Combination Division One. The club are known locally as ‘The Stringers’, a nickname which derives from traditional industry in the town, and was adopted officially at the turn of the millennium.

Hellingly Hospital Hellingly Hospital, formerly the East Sussex County Asylum, was a large psychiatric hospital. It was located close to Hailsham in East Sussex.

Zoar Strict Baptist Chapel Zoar Strict Baptist Chapel was built in 1837 and originally known as The Dicker Chapel. The 800-capacity building included a schoolroom and stables when built. Six permanent pastors have administered the chapel during its existence: one served for more than 50 years.

Lower Dicker Lower Dicker is a 0.1-hectare (0.25-acre) geological Site of Special Scientific Interest west of Hailsham in East Sussex. It is a Geological Conservation Review site.
