Guiting Power history
There was a late Anglo-Saxon settlement on the site of the present village, when it was called Gyting Broc. Excavations have revealed Iron Age activity and a Roman figurine. Village was at the heart of a manor owned by King Edward the Confessor, but declined by the time of the Domesday Book of 1086.
