There has been a settlement in the area since before the Norman Conquest. The village is home to Witley Court, a Jacobean country house extended on a number of occasions throughout its history. The mansion, formerly one of the finest in the Midlands, is now in the care of English Heritage, who describe it as their number one ruin.

The Elms, Abberley The Elms Hotel in Abberley, Worcestershire is Grade II listed on the English Heritage Register. It was built in 1710 by Thomas White (1674-1748) of Worcester who was a pupil of Sir Christopher Wren. The hotel was the home of several notable families over the next two centuries.

Astley Hall (Stourport-on-Severn) Astley Hall is a country house in Astley near Stourport-on-Severn, Worcestershire, England. It was the home of Prime Minister Stanley Baldwin from 1902 to his death there in 1947. It is now a nursing home.

Shelsley Beauchamp Shelsley Beauchamp is 9 miles (14 km) north west of Worcester, in the Malvern Hills district of Worcestershire. In 2011 the parish had a population of 192. It is on the opposite bank of the River Teme to Shelsleys Walsh. It was in the lower division of Doddingtree Hundred.
