Fyfield, Wiltshire history
Fyfield Down has extensive remains from successive phases of prehistoric to post-medieval activity. A 300-acre field system extending onto Overton Down has produced Iron Age and Romano-British finds. Prior to the mid 19th century, the village was centred south of the church, in the valley northeast of Lockeridge House (c. 1740)

Marlborough Castle
Marlborough Castle was an 11th-century royal castle in Wiltshire. It was located on the Old Bath Road, the old main road from London to Bath. It survives as a tree-covered mound within the site of Marlboro College.

The Sanctuary
The Sanctuary was a stone and timber circle near the village of Avebury in Wiltshire. Excavation has revealed the location of the 58 stone sockets and 62 post-holes. The ring was part of a tradition of stone circle construction that spread throughout much of Britain, Ireland, and Brittany during the Late Neolithic and Early Bronze Age.
