Fulwell as today defined formed the southern extent of Hounslow Heath and the raised Taplow gravel that defined it. A reference to assarts at Fulwell dating from around 1200 are amongst the earliest records of the name. The area was progressively enclosed for agriculture and increasingly urbanised.

Fulwell Lodge and Fulwell Park

Fulwell Lodge was first owned with Yorke/Fulwell Farm to its north in the early 17th century. It lay north-west of the Shepperton Branch Line encompassing what is now Fulwell Golf Course. The exiled last King of Portugal, Manoel/Manuel II, bought the lodge from 1913 until his death in 1932. The lodge and its acres of grounds were then bought by Wates and demolished.

Ivybridge, formerly Mogden, is a housing estate in the southern part of Isleworth in West London. Formerly agricultural, it was the site of Mogden Isolation Hospital, later South Middlesex Hospital, from 1897 to 1991. The Ivybridge estate is a council development with four tower blocks, new build houses, and various different play area’s and shopping centers. The area borders between Isleworth and Twickenham, and is close to the home ground of England rugby team.
