FORDEN is a parish in the hundred of Cawrse, county Montgomery, North Wales, 3 miles N. of Montgomery, and 4 S.E. of Welshpool, its post town. Traces of a Roman road and a Roman camp called locally “the Gaer” are near the River Severn, in a township of the parish called Thornbury.

Nantcribba Nantcribba is a township in the parish of Forden in the historic county of Montgomeryshire and now in Powys. It is also the site of the Corbett, Barons of Caus Castle in Shropshire. To the south of the Castle site was NantCribba Hall, which was owned by the Devereux family and the Marquises of Hereford.

Hen Domen Hen Domen Welsh, meaning “old mound”, is the site of a medieval timber motte-and-bailey castle in Powys, Wales. The original Montgomery Castle was built by Roger de Montgomery in 1070. From 1105 the castle was the home of the de Boulers (Bowdler) family, and Montgomery gets its Welsh name, Trefaldwyn.

St Beuno’s Church, Berriew St Beuno’s Church is the parish church of Berriew, in the historic county of Montgomeryshire, now Powys. The original church was a single-chamber, with a wooden west bellcote and a northchancel chapel. It was replaced in 1803-4 with a larger brick church by the architect John Hiram Haycock of Shrewsbury.
