The village of Farnham gets its name from Old English where it means “Fern hemmed-in land” The earliest known recording of the village is from the Domesday Book, written in 1086, where it appears three times. Norwich Crag Formation
Norwich Crag Formation is the second youngest unit of the Crag Group. It was deposited between approximately 2.4 and 1.8 million years ago, during the Gelasian Stage. It is a marginal facies of the thicker sedimentary sequence in the southern North Sea basin.

The Snape Anglo-Saxon Cemetery is a place of burial dated to the 6th century AD located on Snape Common, near to the town of Aldeburgh in Suffolk. The first recorded excavation of the site was conducted by antiquarians in 1827, with a later, more thorough investigation taking place in 1862 under the control of landowner Septimus Davidson.
