In Saxon times, the location on which the church now stands was surrounded by tidal marshland. This is the probable location for the minster church established by St Cedd at Tilaburg which is mentioned in Bede’s History of the English Church. Coalhouse Fort was an active part of the defences of London up to and including World War II. The construction of a Bata Shoes factory in the 1930s resulted in substantial development in East Tilbury.

St James’ Church, West Tilbury The church of St James is a grade II* listed former parish church in West Tilbury. It is constructed from flint and rubble and was restored by W Benton. It contains remnants of Early Norman windows.

Milton Range Milton Range is a rifle range east of Gravesend. It was formerly served by Milton Range Halt, formerly known as Milton Range. It is located near Gravesend, Kent, and is located on the East Coast coast.

Mucking (archaeological site) Mucking is an archaeological site near the village of Mucking in southern Essex. The site contains remains dating from the Neolithic to the Middle Ages. Major excavations took place at the site between 1965 and 1978, directed by Margaret Ursula Jones.

St Mary’s Church, Higham St Mary’s Church is a redundant Anglican church in the village of Higham, Kent, England. It is recorded in the National Heritage List for England as a designated Grade I listed building. The church is under the care of the Churches Conservation Trust.
