Church
The parish is home to a Grade II listed Church believed to have been constructed in 1895. It was given its listed title in 1969, similar to that of East Layton Hall. Formerly named ‘Chapel of Ease’ has got a bell tower, but not a steeple.
East Layton Hall
East Layton Hall was registered as a Grade II listed building in 1969. The manor house and attached garden dates back to around 1623. The building was an inn, called the Layton Arms.
Racehorse “Crisp”
Crisp was in the running to win the 1973 Grand National, but tired out quickly in the last stretch, being beaten by a three quarters of a length. He died after an accident hunting, and was buried at the entrance of Sir Chester Manifold’s estate in East Layton.

St John the Baptist’s Church, Stanwick
