Domesday Book of 1086 recorded holdings in Chenete, the area which later became East and West Kennett. There was a church at East Kennett in the 12th century and by 1291 it was a separate parish. A schoolhouse was built opposite the manor house in 1857 with support from Maria and Ann Mathews.

Pewsey Downs Pewsey Downs (grid reference SU113636) is a 305.3 hectare biological Site of Special Scientific Interest on the southern edge of the Marlborough Downs north of Pewsey in Wiltshire.

Avebury Manor and Garden Avebury Manor & Garden is a Grade I listed early-16th-century manor house. It is in Avebury, near Marlborough, Wiltshire, England, in the centre of the village next to St James’s Church.

The Sanctuary The Sanctuary was a stone and timber circle near the village of Avebury in Wiltshire. Excavation has revealed the location of the 58 stone sockets and 62 post-holes. The ring was part of a tradition of stone circle construction that spread throughout much of Britain, Ireland, and Brittany during the Late Neolithic and Early Bronze Age.
