Duxford’s toponym has evolved from Dudochesforde in the Domesday Book of 1086 to Duddelesford and Dodekelesford in the 14th century. A Saxon called Alwi held it during the reign of Edward the Confessor. It seems to have been linked with the manor of Hinton Waldrist by 1301.

St Mary’s Church, Longworth St Mary’s Church is a Church of England parish church in Longworth, Oxfordshire (formerly Berkshire) The church is a Grade I listed building.

Buckland House Buckland House is a large Georgian stately home, the manor house of Buckland in Oxfordshire. It is a masterpiece of Palladian architecture erected by John Wood, the Younger for Sir Robert Throckmorton in 1757. The building overlooks a landscaped park, which includes gardens, a cricket ground and a 150-acre deer park. It has nine bays, the three central ones being narrow on each of its three storeys.
