Cuerden history
The name speculatively derives from the Welsh cerdin, the plural of cerdinen, “rowan” Cuerden Hall is a country house begun in 1717 on the site of a 17th-century house. The manor was given to Vivian Molyneux by Roger de Poitou and devolved to the Banastres, Charnocks, Langtons, and Fleetwoods.

Cuerden covered 800 acres about 4½ miles south east of Preston on the River Lostock on the road between Preston and Wigan. Half of the park is used for agriculture, half of which is used in agriculture.

Buckshaw Hall
Buckshaw Hall is a grade II* listed 17th-century country house in Buckshaw Village, Euxton, some 3 miles (4.8 km) north-west of Chorley, England.
Buckshaw Village
Buckshaw Village is one of the largest urban development sites in the North West of England with a population of about 4,000. The new development is taking place on the former site of the Royal Ordnance Factory (ROF) Chorley, which was requisitioned by the War Office in the 1930s.
Cuerden Hall
Cuerden Hall was formerly a family home between 1717 and 1906. The Hall was used by the Army until the 1960s. It was sold to Manchester business man Colin Shenton in 2020 who is restoring it to its original purpose.
