Corfe history


The parish of Corfe was part of the Taunton Deane Hundred. The village, along with nearby Pitminster, was a tithing of Bishop of Winchester.

Barton Grange

Barton Grange was the Prior of Taunton’s summer residence. It was largely demolished in 1931 and the remaining buildings converted to flats in 1981.
