Chillingham Castle Chillingham Castle was the seat of the Grey and Bennett (later Earls of Tankerville) from the 15th century until the 1980s. A large enclosed park in the castle grounds is home to the rare breed of white cattle. The castle is a Grade I listed building.

Ros Hill Ros Hill is the highest point of a low range of hills stretching from Alnwick to Berwick-upon-Tweed. It is situated just above Chillingham, with its famous herd of cattle. On a clear day, a total of seven castles can be seen from the summit, including the one on Holy Island.

Chillingham cattle Chillingham cattle are a breed of cattle that live in a large enclosed park at Chillingham Castle, Northumberland, England. The herd has remained remarkably genetically isolated for hundreds of years, surviving despite inbreeding depression due to the small population.
