Cynwyl Elfed
Cynwyl Elfed (Welsh pronunciation; sometimes Conwyl and formerly anglicised as Conwil Elvet) is a village and community in the county of Carmarthenshire, Wales. It is situated about 5 miles (8.0 km) north of the village and had a population of 953 in 2001, increasing to 1,044 at the 2011 Census. It was the most important centre of the commote of Elfed in the Middle Ages.
Cynwyl Elfed transmitting station
The Cynwyl Elfed television relay station was built in 1989 as a fill-in relay for UHF analogue colour television. It consists of a 14 m self-supporting lattice steel mast standing on a hillside 115 m above sea level. The transmissions are beamed west to cover the target.
