Hallington Reservoirs Hallington Reservoirs are located near the small village of Colwell, Northumberland, England. Water was first collected from the area by an aqueduct intercepting streams, which was built between 1857 and 1859 by the Whittle Dean Water Company. As the populations of Newcastle and Gateshead continued to grow, more water was needed, and a second reservoir was constructed at Hallington, known as the West Reservoir.

Milecastle 24 Milecastle 24 (Wall Fell) was a milecastle of the Roman Hadrian’s Wall. Its remains exist as a low platform, and are located to the south of the B6318 Military Road.

Milecastle 23 Milecastle 23 (Stanley) was a milecastle of the Roman Hadrian’s Wall. It is located to the south of the B6318 Military Road around 1.5 kilometres (0.93 mi) west of its junction with the A68.
