Old Buckenham Priory The priory was founded circa 1146 by William de Albini and his wife Queen Adeliza (widow of King Henry I) It was built on the site of Buckenham Castle and rectories of All Saints and St. Andrews. It was suppressed in 1537 as part of the Dissolution of the Monasteries carried out under King Henry VIII.

Iceni The Iceni were a Brittonic tribe of eastern Britain during the Iron Age and early Roman era. Their territory included present-day Norfolk and parts of Suffolk and Cambridgeshire. Their capital was Venta Icenorum at modern-day Caistor St Edmund. Julius Caesar does not mention the Iceni in his account of his invasions of Britain in 55 and 54 BC.
