Beetley history
Beetley was part of the Manor of Elmham, held by William Beaufoe, Bishop of Thetford. The name deriving from the two Anglo Saxon words betel and bietel, both words applying to a clearing where wooden mallets are made.

East Bilney
East Bilney is a village and former civil parish, 19 miles (31 km) north west of Norwich. It has a church called St Mary which is located away from the village and a car dealer. In 1931 the parish had a population of 117.
Worthing, Norfolk

Spong Hill is the largest Early Anglo-Saxon burial site ever excavated. The site consisted of two cemeteries, a large cremation cemetery and a smaller, 6th century cemetery of 57 inhumations. Extensive excavations of the Early Saxon cemetery and part of the associated settlement revealed evidence of Early Prehistoric occupation.
