The Hollywood Music Festival was held at Leycett in an area called Hollywood on the grounds of Ted Askey’s Lower (pig) Farm. It was notable for the first performance of Grateful Dead in the UK and also for the performance of Jose Feliciano and Mungo Jerry. Heighley Castle was completed by the Audley family in 1233 and for over 300 years was one of their ancestral homes. It was held for Charles I during the English Civil War and destroyed by Parliamentary forces in 1640s.
