Spetchley history
The Spetchley estate was once owned by the Sheldon and Lyttleton families. It was bought in 1605 by Rowland Berkeley, a wool merchant and banker. His original Tudor house on the site was burned down on the eve of the battle of Worcester, 1651.
Spetchley railway station
The station was built by the Birmingham and Gloucester Railway . The station opened on 24 June 1840 but closed for passengers on the 1 October 1855 and goods 2 January 1961 .

St John the Baptist, White Ladies Aston
St John the Baptist is a Grade II* listed building in White Ladies Aston, Worcestershire, England. It is a building of Norman origin, dating from 1204 when Robert de Everay made a gift of two palfreys to the Bishop of Worcester. In 1255 the church was linked to Whistones Priory and Cistercian Nuns. In 1536 the church’s links with the White Ladies ended in 1536 when the Dissolution of the Monasteries was closed. The oldest timbers in the tower and spire date back to the 15th Century.
