The original river settlement was upstream in Ringmore where the valley was farmed, and the inhabitants were hidden from the sea. Up to the beginning of the 20th century, Ringmore had many working farms, extensive apple and other orchards, including cider apples, watercress beds, and withy beds used for making lobster pots.

Teignmouth Abbey Teignmouth Abbey or St. Scholastica’s Abbey is a former abbey in Devon, England. The name of the abbey is known as St. Teignmouth Abbey.

Teignmouth Lighthouse Teignmouth lighthouse has been a Grade II listed building since 1949. It is paired with a red polycarbonate leading light at Powderham Terrace behind the lighthouse.

Shaldon Shaldon is a village on the south bank of the River Teign, opposite Teignmouth. At the 2011 Census, it had a population of 1,762. The village is characterised by Georgian architecture.

Coombe Cellars Coombe Cellars Inn is a public house on the south bank of the River Teign in south Devon. It is in the parish of Haccombe with Combe, near the village of Combeinteignhead. As of 2016 it is owned by Mitchells & Butlers.
