Reedness geography / climate
The centre of population is located on an unclassified road which runs along the southern bank of the River Ouse. The Fockerby Branch of the Axholme Joint Railway crossed the parish, on its way from Reedness Junction to Fockby. The A161 road cuts across the parish in a straight line, and is flanked by counter drains.

Saltmarshe Hall is a grade II* listed 19th-century country house. It stands on the north bank of the River Ouse across from Goole. It is constructed of brick faced with ashlar with Welsh slate roofs. The square two storey main building has a five-bay frontage.
