The Pawlett Hams form part of Bridgwater Bay Site of Special Scientific Interest. The name of the village is believed to come from an 11th-century estate and may refer to a stream either with stakes or below a steep-sided hill. The village lies on a bend of the River Parrett near to its mouth and had a landing place called Pawlett pill by the 15th century.

Church of the Holy Trinity, Chilton Trinity The Anglican Church of the Holy Trinity at Chilton Trinity in Somerset was established in the 13th century. It is a Grade II* listed building.

West Huntspill West Huntspill is a settlement and civil parish about 5 miles from Bridgwater, in the Sedgemoor district of Somerset. The parish includes the village of Huntspill and the hamlet of Alstone.

Down End Castle Down End Castle was a motte-and-bailey castle at Down End, north of Dunball in the parish of Puriton, Somerset. It has been designated as a Scheduled Ancient Monument.

ROF Bridgwater Royal Ordnance Factory (ROF) Bridgwater was a factory between the villages of Puriton and Woolavington in the Sedgemoor district of Somerset, UK that produced high explosives for munitions. It was slightly above sea level, between the 5 and 10 metre contour lines on Ordnance Survey maps.

Steart Peninsula The Steart Peninsula (grid reference ST274459) is a peninsula in Somerset, England. At its outermost tip is Fenning Island (now joined to the mainland), at the tip of which is Stert Point (sometimes spelt Steart Point) The peninsula consists largely of low-lying flat farmland.
