HM Prison Channings Wood HM Prison Channings Wood is a Category C men’s prison. It is located in the parish of Ogwell (near Newton Abbot) in Devon. The prison is operated by Her Majesty’s Prison Service.

Abbotskerswell Priory Abbotskerswell Priory was the home of a community of Augustinian nuns from 1861 until 1983. It has now been converted into apartments for retired people.

West Ogwell West Ogwell is a village and former civil parish and manor in Devon. It is located 2 miles south-west of Newton Abbot and 1 mile west of the village of East Ogwell. Now in the civil parish of Ogwell, administered by Teignbridge District Council.

East Ogwell East Ogwell is a village and former civil parish 15 miles (24 km) south of Exeter, now in the parish of Ogwell. In 2018 it had an estimated population of 855. In 1891 the parish had a population of 271.

Compton Castle Compton Castle in the parish of Marldon in Devon, is a fortified manor house in the village of Compton (formerly “Compton Pole”), about 5 miles (8 km) west of Torquay. The castle has been home to the Gilbert family for most of the time since it was built. It has been a National Trust property since 1951.
