Hunnington was originally a township in the parish of Halesowen, a detached part of Shropshire. It was transferred to the jurisdiction of Worcestershire in 1844 and became a parish in its own right in the 19th century. It became part of Bromsgrove Rural District in 1894 under the Local Government Act 1894.

The Leasowes The Leasowes is a 57-hectare (around 141 acre) estate in Halesowen, historically in Shropshire, England . The name means “rough pasture land” The estate is now listed Grade I on English Heritage’s Register of Parks and Gardens .

Shropshire (Detached) Between the late 11th century and 1844, Shropshire (Salop) had a large exclave within the present-day Black Country and surrounding area . This territory was gained from neighbouring Worcestershire, and the exclave’s border corresponded with the medieval Manor of Hala . Hala was part of Brimstree hundred, and totally detached from the rest of the county . The exceptions were Cradley, Lutley and Warley Wigorn, which were still aligned with the original county .

Walton Hill Walton Hill is 316 metres (1,037 ft) above sea level. It is the highest point for 21 miles (34 km) in all directions. Its neighbours include Clent Hill, Wychbury Hill, Calcot Hill, and Romsley Hill. The summit of the hill is open grassland and heath, which was commonland of Clent.
