The name Grimsargh is said to derive from an Old Norse name Grímr with Norse erg. Oliver Cromwell’s Roundhead army came through the village on 17 August 1648. St Michael’s Church is in sandstone with slate roofs and consists of a nave, a north aisle, a chancel, a vestry, and a west tower.

The village lies between Preston and Longridge, and south east of Goosnargh. Notable features include St. Michael’s Parish Church (CE) and a large parkland area to the west of the village.

Ribbleton Ribbleton is a suburb and ward of Preston, Lancashire. It is located to the east of the city centre, between the A59 New Hall Lane and the B6243 Longridge Road. The ward had a population of 7,351 recorded in the 2001 census.

St Mary’s Church, Fernyhalgh St Mary’s Church is in Fernyhalgh Lane, Broughton, Lancashire. It is a Roman Catholic church located near the shrine at Ladyewell House. The church was built in 1792–94 to provide services for pilgrims when the chapel at the house became too small.
