St Michael’s Church, North Rode
St Michael’s Church is in Church Lane, North Rode, Cheshire, England. It is an active Anglican parish church in the deanery of Macclesfield, the archdeaconry of Macclefield, and the diocese of Chester. The church is recorded in the National Heritage List for England as a designated Grade II listed building.
Gawsworth Old Hall
Gawsworth Old Hall is a Grade I listed country house in the village of Gawsworth, Cheshire. The present house was built between 1480 and 1600, replacing an earlier Norman house. Notable residents include Mary Fitton, perhaps the “Dark Lady” of Shakespeare’s sonnets, and Samuel “Maggoty” Johnson, a playwright described as the last professional jester in England.
Macclesfield F.C.
Macclesfield Football Club was founded on 13 October 2020 by local businessman Robert Smethurst. The club will join the North West Counties Premier Division, the fifth step of the National League system, for the 2021–22 season. It is a phoenix club of the former Macclefield Town F.C. which was wound-up in September 2020.
