The Kennet and Avon Canal was opened through Froxfield parish in 1799. The Berks and Hants Extension Railway took the same route, immediately north of the canal, in 1862. RAF Ramsbury was used by the U.S. Army Air Forces between 1942 and 1946.

Manor

Between AD 801 and 805 one Byrhtelm granted land at Froxfield to Ealhmund, Bishop of Winchester. The Domesday Book of 1086 does not mention the manor, and may therefore have included the landholding as part of another landholding. Froxfields reappears in the historical record in 1242–43, when Baldwin de Redvers, 6th Earl of Devon was its feudal overlord.

Littlecote Roman Villa Littlecote Roman Villa is an extensive and exceptional Roman villa with associated religious complex. It was situated 8 km west of the Roman town of Cunetio towards Marlborough. It has been excavated and is on display to the public in the grounds of the estate.

Littlecote House Littlecote House is a large Elizabethan country house and estate in Wiltshire. The estate includes 34 hectares of historic parklands and gardens. Grade I listed building is now a hotel and leisure centre.
