Fencott history
In 1542 the Crown granted most of the land at Murcott to the Dean and Chapter of Westminster Abbey. There was also one hide of land that belonged to Abingdon Abbey. At the dissolution of the monasteries in the 1530s the land passed to the Crown, which disposed of it in 1553.

Otmoor
Otmoor or Ot Moor is located halfway between Oxford and Bicester. It is about 60 metres (200 ft) above sea level, and has an area of approximately 160 hectares (400 acres) encircled by the “Seven Towns” of OTMoor. Part of it is a nature reserve, RSPB Omoor, which adjoins a Ministry of Defence firing range.
