Craiglockhart was first recorded in 1278 as “Crag quam Stephanus Loccard miles tenuit”, thus “Craig (or rock) of Loccard” The oldest structure in the area is the remains of a vitrified fort on the top of Wester Craigockhart Hill, which is of prehistoric origin. The castle was owned by Adam Otterburn, a Scottish lawyer in the 16th century. It was later besieged and taken by the forces of Oliver Cromwell in 1650.

St. Kentigern’s Church, Edinburgh (Union Canal) St. Kentigern’s Church is a former Episcopalian church in Viewforth, Edinburgh, Scotland. It was built in 1897 and was designed by John More Dick Peddie. The church closed in 1941 after which it was used as a nursery and garage.
