Collingtree history
In the Domesday Book the settlement is referred to as Collingtrev or Colentreu. The trough is certainly the basis for the name of the main road, Watering Lane, from the A45 up to the crossroads at the centre of the village. The centre of Collingtree was designated a Conservation Area in 1978.
