Chislet history
Until 1969, Chislet was the most northerly colliery in Kent. The village is served by the Anglican parish church of St Mary the Virgin, a Grade I listed building.

Grove Ferry Picnic Area
Grove Ferry Picnic Area is near Upstreet, in Kent, on the site of an old hand-drawn ferry that once crossed the River Stour. It is beside the Grove Ferry Public House, built in 1831 and now managed by Shepherd Neame.
